The governing body of Netball in the Country, the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) has held a successful Annual General Assembly on Friday 24th February 2023 at Sky View Hotel Fort Portal City in Western Uganda.
This is the second AGM held since Hon. Babirye Kityo Sarah and her executive took over in 2021.
In her speech, Babirye highlighted the achievements of the sport in the past year and the challenges faced especially the lack of finances to run the federation activities smoothly.
Babirye also told delegates that their hearts should be calm because the World Netball confirmed that Uganda settled fine and She Cranes will take part in the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town South Africa in July. Babirye asserted that the government have paid the fine and Uganda is now free to play any ranking games.
The AGM also approved the budget of 23bn shillings for the financial year 2023/24 which is 5bn less than that of last year.
They expect to get money from government, membership subscriptions from Districts, clubs and other members plus sponsorships.
The delegates also made it clear that it’s them and the AGM who approved the new constitution amendments made in the previous AGM and asked the NCS representative, madam Anne Nankya to respect the decisions they made as delegates.
