Match Day Seven of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) continues today with three key fixtures that promise excitement and crucial points in the early-season standings.
At Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe, Express FC begin life without head coach Badru Kaddu as they take on hosts Lugazi.
Interim coaches Jimmy Kintu Mwera and Richard Malinga aim to secure a winning start, but history may favor the home side, who won both league encounters against Express last season.
Both teams arrive in confident form following resounding victories before the international break, with Express thrashing Mbarara City 4–1 and Lugazi overcoming Buhimba United Saints 5–2.
The two sides are level on eight points after six rounds, with Express seventh and Lugazi ninth, making this a pivotal clash in the mid-table race.
Meanwhile, at Royal Park Butema, BUL FC look to maintain their unbeaten 2025 league record as they visit Kitara.
The Jinja-based side has never lost to the Royals in Premier League action, recording four wins and two draws, although Kitara prevailed in their most recent Uganda Cup meeting.
BUL sit fourth on ten points, three clear of tenth-placed Kitara, who have played one game fewer.
A victory for BUL would keep them within striking distance of early leaders Police FC, while Kitara aim to close the gap on the mid-table pack.
In the late kickoff at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, SC Villa aim to become the first team this season to win four matches in a row as they host NEC FC.
Villa have been unbeaten since their season-opening 2–1 loss to KCCA and are now just four points off the summit with a game in hand.
NEC have struggled for form, winning only once this season and sitting 12th with six points. New head coach Badru Kaddu is still seeking his first league victory following a draw against BUL before the international window.
A win for Villa would consolidate their title ambitions, while NEC hope to escape the lower reaches of the table.
