“KCCA vs URA – MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, 7pm

KCCA FC will host URA FC today, Tuesday in the second last outing of the first round of the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League (UPL). The match will be played under floodlights (7 PM) at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala.

The Kasasiro Boys want to win a fourth successive game after turning their season around following a messy start. KCCA FC are coming off a three-game winning streak, having picked wins against Bright Stars, SC Villa, and UPDF FC. It is the first time this term that KCCA has won three games on the bounce.

“We have prepared well for this game and if the players can follow the game plan then we can pick maximum points. We welcome Mustafa Kizza and Peter Magambo back from injury. Unfortunately, we will miss Dominic Ayella and Emmanuel Loki due to groin and hamstring injuries,” KCCA assistant coach Jackson Magera told the club website.

With 16 points at the moment, a win could see them move within a point of Obua’s URA who occupy 7th position.

On the other hand, the tax collectors who are yet to win on the road this season could climb to 5th position with three points.

KCCA will hope to avenge the Fufa Super 8 defeat and with the form they are currently enjoying, they fancy their chances.

In the previous 26 meetings, KCCA FC has won seven times, while URA FC has won 12. Both sides have shared spoils seven times in 26 meetings. KCCA FC has scored 32 goals in the last 26 meetings, while URA FC has scored 34.

Meanwhile, at Wankulukuku, 16-time champions SC Villa host army side UPDF aiming to close in on the leading a pack.

The Jogoos could move into the top three with a win while the army side want maximum points to get out of the relegation zone.

In other games on Tuesday, second placed Kitara visit desperate Busoga United at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru, Wakiso Giants make the long trip to Mbarara City while Maroons clash with Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba.
