UPL: KCCA and NEC face tough challenges in pursuit of top spot
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

As the Uganda Premier League’s match day six draws to a close, KCCA and NEC both have high stakes as they aim to reclaim the top spots on the league table.

In the early match on Saturday, October 26, KCCA will visit Mbale Heroes at the Municipal Stadium, with kickoff at 4 p.m.

Following a draw against UPDF last week, KCCA, currently sitting third in the standings, seeks a return to winning form.

A victory could temporarily push them to the top of the table—at least until NEC’s game later in the evening.

KCCA holds a unique advantage as the only unbeaten team in the league so far, but they face a tricky opponent in the Mbale Heroes, who have already taken down SC Villa at the same venue this season.

Later at 7 p.m., NEC will host Wakiso Giants at Lugogo. This match is especially significant for NEC, who are looking for their first-ever win over Wakiso Giants after coming up short in both encounters last season. A win for NEC will secure their place at the top of the table, regardless of KCCA’s earlier outcome.

The current standings show Vipers SC leading with 13 points, followed closely by NEC with 12, and KCCA at 11.

The league’s competitive intensity promises a thrilling end to match day six as both KCCA and NEC fight to gain ground in the title race.
