The StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) returns on Wednesday with Matchday 13 action, featuring three intriguing fixtures that could have a significant impact on the title race and the relegation battle.
Second-placed KCCA will be on the road as they make the short trip to Luzira to face Maroons at the Prisons Ground.
The Kasasiro Boys are coming off a disappointing defeat to Police FC and will be eager to bounce back against one of their traditional bogey sides, currently seventh on the table.
Victory for KCCA would see them reclaim top spot from leaders Vipers SC, who are not in action until Saturday.
Coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera will be boosted by the return of midfielder Peter Magambo from a long-term injury, while striker Emmanuel Anyama is also available after completing a two-match suspension following his red card in December’s win over NEC.
At Kiira Road Arena, 2005 league champions Police FC host bottom-placed Calvary FC in a fixture that heavily favours the home side.
The Cops are enjoying a fine run of form and will be aiming to extend their winning streak. Calvary, still searching for their first victory of the season, face a daunting task against a Police side that could move level on points with table leaders Vipers with a win.
The third fixture of the day sees Entebbe UPPC travel to Bombo to take on UPDF. Abdallah Mubiru’s side, currently fifth on the standings, will be hoping to maintain their impressive away form.
However, UPDF are desperate for points as they look to create breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone, setting up a fiercely contested encounter.
