The Uganda Premier League action continues this Friday with two key fixtures as KCCA host Calvary under the lights at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, while SC Villa travel to Butema to face Buhimba Saints United at Royal Park.
At 4pm, newly promoted Buhimba Saints welcome record league champions SC Villa in a clash that could shake up the top of the table. The Saints are looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season, a 3–0 loss away to BUL FC that halted their perfect start. A win at home would take Buhimba back to the summit of the table.
SC Villa, who sit 11th with four points, head into the game buoyed by a hard-fought victory over Police FC. The Jogoos, who have a game in hand, will be eager to build momentum and climb up the standings, but they face a side hungry to reclaim top spot in front of their fans.
Later at 8pm, KCCA FC will aim to move top of the log when they host struggling Calvary FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The Kasasiro Boys currently occupy third place with eight points from four matches and will move to 11 points with victory, two clear of second-placed BUL FC who were held to a draw by Express FC on Thursday.
Calvary are yet to register a win this season, with only a single point earned away to Maroons FC. They face a tough task against a confident KCCA side keen to maintain their unbeaten start. Ivan Ahimbisibwe will be eager to rediscover his scoring form, supported by attacking teammates Nana Kwikiriza and Sammy Ssebaduka.
With both matches carrying major implications for the early-season standings, fans can expect a thrilling evening of football as the battle for the Uganda Premier League summit intensifies.
