Friday Results
*Blacks Power 0-1 Vipers SC
*SC Villa 1-2 Wakiso Giants

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions, Vipers SC, had to dig deep to overcome home side Blacks Power 1-0 at Akii Bua Stadium on Friday.

Ashraf Mandela’s 73rd half penalty was the difference as the Venoms won again after being held by Wakiso Giants in their previous outing.

Vioers’ second win in five matches moves then another two places up to eighth on eight points, six behind leaders BUL and Wakiso Giants.

BUL and Wakiso have, however, played two games more than Vipers.

On their part, while there is marked improvement in the performance, results remain elusive for Blacks Power.

They remain second from bottom on two points from seven matches.

At Akii Bua Stadium in Lira, they put up a fight only to be broken by conceding a penalty, which Mandela buried home.

Vipers still showed their seniority, with eventual Pilsner Man of the Match Karim Watambala pulling strings for the visitors in the middle of the park.

Meanwhile, Wakiso Giants are now joint top of the league table following an impressive 2-1 victory over SC Villa on Friday.

Ibrahim Kasule and Shariph Kimbowa scored for Wakiso Giants while Seif Batte got Villa’s consolation.

Wakiso’s fourth win in seven matches sees them join BUL at the top of the table on 14 points.

Villa, who were losing only their second game in seven, drop one to third and remain on 13 points.
