The StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) continues on Thursday, October 3, 2024, with two key fixtures as teams aim to position themselves early in the season.
Under the floodlights at Nakivubo’s Hamz Stadium, NEC, who have had a flawless start to their campaign, will visit seven-time champions Express FC.
Hussein Mbalangu’s NEC side, currently second on the log with nine points, are just a point behind leaders KCCA FC.
NEC are in search of a fourth consecutive win, while Express, who sit in 9th place with only four points from their first three games, look to gain momentum.
Meanwhile, Kitara FC will host Police FC at Royal Park Butema in the earlier 4pm kick-off. Kitara, one of the title favorites, are under pressure after losing their last two games.
A win is crucial for them to avoid slipping further down the table. Currently in 10th place with three points, Kitara face a Police side that remains unbeaten but winless, having drawn all three of their matches.
Both teams are tied on points, with only goal difference separating them.
The results from these fixtures could significantly shape the early standings, with NEC looking to challenge KCCA for the top spot, and Kitara aiming to halt their downward slide.
