King George IV Memorial Stadium, Tororo
Thursday, 1st April @4pm

SC Villa will be hoping for a routine victory when they take on MYDA FC at the King George IV Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

The Jogoos ended the first round on a high as they won their final two games.

Edward Kaziba’s side beat Onduparaka 1-0 and Bright Stars 2-1 to move to 24 points.

They will be hoping they can take that momentum to Tooro against a side that registered only six points in their opening 15 games.

MYDA have been poor since getting promoted to the top tier for the first time and had to wait until the last game of the first round for their only victory so far.

The win came away to Kyetume FC at Njeru as they edged the Slaughters 1-0 in a lunchtime kick-off.

Going into the game, MYDA head coach Abdusamadu Musafiri says they are to treat every game in the second round as a final.

“We know what is required of us. Said Musafiri.

“We are now on six points but need to win a minimum of six games and three draws to be safe.

“That is very achievable because we have prepared enough for the second round.

“We are going to prove that starting tomorrow and we will treat all games as Cup finals.”

MYDA are expected to he without will the injured Eric Mutebi and Moses Batali.

Villa will be without midfielder Ronald Sekiganda who is suspended due to accumulation of three-yellow cards and Joseph Nsubuga is a major doubt. They will however welcome back the combative Emmanuel Wasswa who sat out the final game of round one due to suspension. Benson Muhindo and Nasser Lukwago continue to be on the sidelines through injury.

Faizo Kazibwe netted a late winner when these two sides met in the first round at Bombo Military Barracks Stadium.
