The Uganda Premier League (UPL) match day three kicks off today with two thrilling fixtures. SC Villa will host BUL at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, while Lugazi FC takes on Vipers SC at Najjembe, with both matches set to start at 4 p.m.
SC Villa, last season’s champions, are looking to bounce back after their 1-0 loss to Mbale Heroes. They previously opened their campaign with a win against Mbarara City and will hope to use today’s clash to reignite their momentum.
Meanwhile, BUL, having secured two consecutive draws against Police FC and KCCA FC, are desperate for their first win of the season under head coach Abbey Kikomeko.
A victory for either Villa or BUL could potentially move them up to second place on the league table, depending on the outcome of the other match between Lugazi FC and Vipers SC.
Lugazi, the newly promoted side, is still searching for their first point in the top flight.
After two consecutive losses, they face a tough challenge against Vipers SC, who come into the match on the back of a 1-0 win over Express FC.
Vipers, however, are still finding their footing after an opening-day defeat to NEC FC.
The matchday continues tomorrow with Wakiso Giants facing Mbale Heroes and KCCA taking on Kitara FC, followed by two more fixtures on Saturday.
