Four foreign sides have been invited to grace the Mapinduzi Cup slated for December 28th to January 13th, 2024.
The organisers have invited Uganda Premier League side URA FC which is handled by former International David Obua, Vital’O from Burundi and Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC. Rwanda giants APR FC have also been invited.
The tournament organized by the government of Zanzibar together with the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) will be played at the newly refurbished Amani Stadium.
Hussein Ahmada, the ZFF general Secretary also confirmed that the defending champions Simba SC together with Azam SFC, Young Africans SC and Singida Big Stars will also take part. Mlandege SC, Jamhuri SC, KVZ FC and Chipukizi FC are the teams from Zanzibar that will take part.
But Ahmada revealed that the official opening of the Amani Stadium will take place on December 27th, 2023 with an international match between Zanzibar Heroes and Tanzanian Mainland.
