The atmosphere was electric on the second day of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Wakiso Zonal Games as St. Mary’s Kitende and Light High School, Seguku, stole the show with outstanding performances, winning all four of their matches.
St. Mary’s Kitende delivered a masterclass, netting six goals in each of their games. Their morning match against St. Mary’s Kasokoso ended in a commanding 6-0 victory, followed by another impressive win against St. Micheal International. Players like Denis Kisiriko and Vicent Ayebale showcased their skills, leaving the crowd in awe.
Light High Seguku’s match against Madina Islamic was a real nail-biter. Despite conceding an early goal, they fought back and clinched a hard-fought 2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Benard Bagambe and Reagan Okwi.
However, it wasn’t smooth sailing for Madinah Islamic, the Nsagi Zone champions, who had to settle for a draw against Divine College. Both teams put up a tough fight, with neither willing to back down.
With the group stage nearing its end, anticipation mounts for day three, where the tournament will only get more intense. As we look forward to the quarterfinals on Thursday, one thing’s for sure: there’s plenty more excitement in store.
