Ndejje University 2-1 Vipers SC

Vipers SC premier league title hopes suffered a huge blow after relegation threatened Ndejje University produced a brilliant performance to claim a 2-1 victory at the Arena of Visions, Bombo on Tuesday.

Vipers fans booed their players after the Ndejje disappointing loss

Robert Esenu opened the scoring for the home side in the 23rd minute before Anwar Ntege extended lead after 30 minutes. The reigning champions pulled one back two minutes off the hour mark when Tito Okello scored from the spot, but was not enough to ensure a point from the trip. Vipers that were coming off a commanding 2-0 home win at Express FC dominated play but proved wasteful with numerous chances missed. Ndejje goal keeper Derrick Emukule was also up to the task with several chances to cap his Pilsner Man of the match performance. Despite their 5th win of the season, Ndejje University remained third from the bottom in the relegation zone with 3 points off safey while the venoms, who suffered second loss of the season are 3 points behind leaders KCCA FC that may stretch gap to five with win at Tooro United on Wednesday in Fort Portal. Elsewhere Alex Isabirye got his first win since replacing Asaph Mwebaze at Nyamityobora Coach as Joseph Akandwanaho’s 84th striker ensured a 1-0 home win at Onduparaka at the Kakyeka stadium, Mbarara. Onduparaka remained 5th while Nyamityobora, whose win was the 4th of the campaign remain second from the foot. At the Betway Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku, Express settled for a barren stalemate against Mbarara City. The Red Eagles were seeking revenge against the 3-1 first loss in vain but a point moved them two places to 9th with 29 points after 23 games. The Ankole Lions remain third with 40 points.
