Pilsner Super 8 semi final
Friday result
Vipers SC 1(5) 1(4)
Ahead of the 2019/20 Uganda football season, fans were treated to an entertaining 90 minutes as Vipers SC hosted Mbarara City in the Pilsner super 8 tournament semi final at St Mary’s SSS, Kitende on Friday.

The end to end tie probably provided the best tip of what should be expected in the new season as both teams have their goal keepers to thank for a 1-1 normal time stalemate.
Fabian Mutombola made five clinical saves for the hosts whilst Mohamed Ssekeba denied Vipers thrice.

The Venoms were also denied by the post twice after break through Abraham Ndugwa and Karim Watambala. Mbarara City took the lead through Brain Ahebwa after Mutombola’s miscommunication with his captain Halid Lwaliwa in the 77th minute.
Substitute Tito Okello scored the equalizer in a space of one minute just after replacing wasteful Denis Mwemezi. In the spot kicks, Ronald Otti saw his kick saved by Mutombola.

The goal keeper also converted the winner as Vipers sailed to the final of the competition for the first time with a 5-4 hard earned victory.
The Kitende side will wait for the winner between holders KCCA and Onduparaka in the other semi final.
