Vipers SC and URA FC drew 1-1 in a potential title decider played at Kitende on Wednesday.

Yunus Sentamu’s late strike cancelled out Rwothomio Cromwell’s first half strike to ensure the two sides took a point each, home.

Rwothomio who was returning from injury gave the URA the lead on 33 minutes, beating Vipers custodian Fabien Mutombora with a low strike after he was set up by Shafik Kagimu.

With just five minutes of normal time to play, Sentamu levelled matters with a fierce left-footed striker off Bobosi Byaruhanga’s pass.

Vipers struggled in the opening half and it came as no surprise that they fell behind.

However, after a series of substitutions, they grew into the game and asked the visitors several question including one that was left unanswered as Ssentamu scored his 13th goal of the campaign.

The draw sees URA FC stay top of the summit with 51 points while Vipers are second with 50 points.

Vipers will next face SC Villa at Bombo Military playground on Saturday while URA FC host Police FC on the same day.

In the other games played on Wednesday, Eric Kambale scored a hat trick as Express FC beat Kyetume FC 3-2 in Nakisunga, KCCA FC drew 0-0 with Police FC at Lugogo while Kitara FC came from two goals down to drew 2-2 with BUL FC in Masindi.
