Cricket Cranes right-handed batsman Kenneth Waiswa posted 101 runs as Uganda beat Qatar by 138 runs (292/6 in 50/50.0 ov against 154/10 in 39.0/50 ov) in game three of their (Uganda) tour of Qatar on Sunday.
Waiswa was unbeaten during his time on the crease and his century came off 96 balls that comprised of 13 boundaries (11 fours and 2 sixes).
It was a second straight win for Uganda after falling prey to the hosts in the opener. Uganda will win the series 3-1 if they triumph in the final (fourth) game.
Uganda who won the toss and opted to bat first on Sunday had opening batsman Roger Mukasa post 57 runs off 85 balls. He had seven boundaries (all fours) while on the crease before he was bowled out by Muhammad Tanveer.
Simon Ssesazi followed with 45 runs off 51 balls. He had 5 fours and 1 six.
For the hosts’ innings, Dharmang Patel posted the most runs (33) as Uganda fielded precisely to keep the home side in check. He was caught by Cricket Cranes veteran Frank Nsubuga after Roger Mukasa’s delivery.
Kamran Khan followed with 31 runs from only 13 balls thanks to his six boundaries (3 fours and 3 sixes). His spell was short-lived after he was caught by Cyrus Kakuru following Cosmas Kyewuta delivery.
The purpose of the tour is to prepare Cricket Cranes for ODI cricket and the four games will surely test the Lawrence Mahatlane coached side.
