In a swift turnaround, Kitara FC has appointed Wasswa Bbosa as their new head coach, less than 24 hours after parting ways with Brian Ssenyondo.
Bbosa, known for his successful stints with SC Villa, Express FC, Tooro United, and Mbarara City, brings valuable experience to the Royals, who are eager to turn around their season.
“We are delighted to announce Wasswa Bbosa as the new head coach,” Kitara FC stated. Bbosa’s appointment is currently set to run through the remainder of the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, with the possibility of extending his contract depending on the team’s performance.
Bbosa arrives with a notable record, having previously won both the Uganda Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Cup with Express FC. His mandate at Kitara will be to revive the club’s fortunes after a challenging start, as they currently hold just 4 points out of a possible 18.
Kitara has struggled, securing a single win against Lugazi FC, drawing with Mbarara City, and facing defeats from NEC FC, KCCA FC, Police FC, and BUL FC.
Bbosa’s first test will come on Friday when Kitara FC faces URA FC at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo. Fans and management alike are hopeful that Bbosa’s tactical expertise will inspire improved results for the club.
In addition to Bbosa, Kitara FC announced changes to their technical team, which includes Assistant Coaches George Lutalo and Hassan Mubiru, Goalkeeping Coach Richard Kansole, Fitness Trainer Ayub Balyejusa, Team Doctor Aloysius Makubuya, and Team Statistician Alex Mugisha.
Kitara currently stands near the bottom of the league table, ranked 14th. The top of the standings is led by NEC FC with 15 points, followed closely by KCCA FC and Vipers SC with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Bbosa’s leadership is expected to bring fresh energy to the Royals, as he aims to secure vital points and steer Kitara up the league standings.
