Uganda U-19 boys national cricket team, Baby Cricket Cranes won the opening match of their Tour To India after beating Paramveer Cricket Academy by 3 wickets on Tuesday at Sanjay Farm.
Baby Cricket Cranes who won the toss and elected to bowl first managed 203/7 against Paramveer’s 200/all out. It was a 50-over match and it will be the case throughout the tour.
Joseph Baguma led the way for the Ugandan side posting a game high 47 runs from 30 balls that comprised of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Albeit being run out by Pal Patel, he was named player of the match.
Brian Asaba followed with 38 runs off 42 balls. He was run out by Rishi Nayak but did a good job on the crease.
The other top performers for Uganda included; Gerald Olipa (32), Christopher Kidega (22) and Ronald Omara (21). Fahad Mutagana (14) and Anas Baig (12) also had double figures while Yunusu Sowobi had a very short stint during his side’s innings posting 2 runs from 8 balls before he was caught by Rishi Nayak following Prince Ahir’s delivery.
Meanwhile, for Paramveer’s innings, Rishi Nayak led the side with a team high 41 runs off 33 balls that comprised of 6 fours and 1 six. He was however caught by Ali Balidawa following Yunusu Sowobi’s delivery.
Darshil Patel who who was the only Paramveer player not to get out managed 33 runs from 38 balls.
The Baby Cricket Cranes return to action today, Wednesday against another select side.
The team will play six 50-over games and one T20 match against select sides organized by Sanjay Farm during the two-week visit.
