Uganda Cranes Vs Mali

Uganda Cranes have been holding training sessions at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers (Group E) game against Mali on Monday, 6th September 2021 at the same venue.
Cranes take on Mali just after settling for a goal-less draw away against Kenya Harambee Stars on Thursday, 2nd September in Nairobi during their opening match of the qualifiers.
Uganda Cranes Head Coach, Mulitin Micho Sredojevic says that they will be aiming to improve their game at home and possibly claim maximum points in Kitende.
‘When we take on Mali, we need an improved performance and results compared to the Kenya game. It is a motivation from the game we played on Thursday,’ Micho told fufa.co.ug
For Micho, the Serbian-born tactician is aware of the importance of this match and hopes that lessons learnt against Kenya can help the players improve themselves.
“We know that the World Cup is the highest level of competition for any team. We have analyzed our first game against Kenya and tried to rectify challenges ahead of tomorrow’s game against Mali,” Micho told media on Sunday in a pre-match press conference at FUFA House in Mengo.
The team is camped at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi, Kampala where they joined the three players who had been earlier released after the international build up with Ethiopia.
Shafik Kuchi Kagimu, Martin Kizza and Kenneth Semakula are all with the team in the camp.
Meanwhile, the Mali delegation arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Sunday afternoon aboard a chartered flight and will be accommodated at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
