Midfielder Marvin Joseph Youngman rejoined Vipers SC on a two-year deal, marking his return to St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, until January 2027. The 26-year-old Uganda Cranes international returns from Soltilo Bright Stars FC and is eager to reignite his legacy at the reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions.
Youngman, who was a key figure in Vipers’ 2022/2023 double-winning campaign, described his return as deeply meaningful.
“My two years at Vipers were a time of pure contentment for me, both on and off the pitch,” Youngman shared. “I grew as a person and a player, developed a special relationship with the fans, and enjoyed amazing success. To have the opportunity to return here means so much.”
His initial stint saw him play 20 league matches, including 11 in his final season, contributing to Vipers’ historic CAF Champions League group stage qualification. Now, he returns with the same hunger for success.
“I don’t want it to sound too nostalgic, because it’s still about competing,” he added. “It’s still about having that drive and trying to be the best version of yourself. That ambition still burns inside me.”
Youngman joins an already competitive midfield featuring Patrick Paul Mbowa, Karim Watambala, Moses Waiswa, Abubakar Lawal, and Abubakali Walusimbi. However, he is ready to embrace the challenge.
“I still want to prove myself every day in training and games. I have an incredible sense for winning, for competing, and I believe what Vipers offers right now is unmatched. That made my decision to return very easy.”
His return marks Vipers’ first signing of the January 2025 transfer window, signaling their intent to bolster the squad for another title push.
Having previously played for Hima FC, Busujju Ssaza, and Bulemeezi Ssaza, Youngman is no stranger to competitive football. Now, he is set to write another chapter in his Vipers SC journey, with his sights firmly set on adding more silverware to his collection.
