Defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins are headed to complete the regular season unbeaten after claiming their fifth century win in the Tusker Lite national women basketball league.
JKL walloped KIU Rangers 105-39 on Friday at the Luogo Arena to extend their unbeaten run –winning all the quarters; 25-11, 33-10, 22-5 and 25-13 respectively.
Jamila ‘Zama’ Nansikombi scored 23 points and 11 rebounds, Hope Akello managed 19 points and 15 rebounds while Peace Nakirijja, Atulinda Maureen and Evelyn Nakiyingi also picked 10, 12 and 18 points respectively for JKL that have won all the 13 matches so far.
KIU endured their 7th defeat of the campaign as Ines Kanyamunyu got the side’s most (12) points.
JKL’s previous century triumphs came against UMU Ravens; twice (109-39 and 107-26), MUK Sparks (109-28) and YMCA Lady Hamsters (121-44).
KIU also saw their men side KIU Titans thumped by UCU Canons 76-33.
