The highly anticipated 2025 Elite Secondary Schools Championship is set to take place from February 14 to 16, 2025, at St. Joseph of Nazareth High School – Mpigi.
This sixth edition of the prestigious tournament will bring together the top eight teams from the previous year’s Ball Games I, the National Boys Football Championship, and Ball Games II.
Expanded sporting disciplines
Since its inception in 2019 with only football, the Elite Games have grown significantly. This year’s edition will feature seven sports, including:
Football (Boys & Girls)
Basketball (Boys & Girls)
Handball (Boys & Girls)
Netball
Volleyball (Boys & Girls)
Rugby 7s (Boys) – a new addition to the tournament
More than just competition
Beyond the competition, the Elite Games serve as a crucial platform for capacity building.
Young referees, umpires, and media trainees will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, making it a key event for skill development in Ugandan school sports.
