KCCA 0-0 Arua Hill

KCCA FC’s chances to win the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) title were dealt a major blow on Monday evening when they were held to a goalless draw by Arua Hill SC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala.

Prior to the match at Lugogo, KCCA were seven points behind log leaders Vipers SC and were possibly aiming to narrow down the gap before the latter plays their game against URA FC on Tuesday at the Arena of Visions.

KCCA are still second on the table with now 46 points off 23 games, now six points behind Vipers who have played a game less.

KCCA, Vipers meet on Saturday in a fixture that will most likely determine the 2021/22 champions especially if the latter come atop.

At Lugogo on Monday, it was largely a dull affair as both sides struggled infront of either’s goal in the first half.

The second half didn’t have many chances as well though it’s intensity was somehow felt compared to the first interval.

After coming on for Sadat Anaku, Rogers Mato would have found the back of the net for the hosts but his effort went wide.

Charles Lwanga would have won it for KCCA at the death but lady luck wasn’t on his side as he failed to slot home from within the area.

Earlier on, Bright Vuni headed wide Gaddafi Wahad’s corner kick as Arua Hill attempted to draw first blood.

The result implies that Arua Hill are now fifth on the table with 40 points and have shared spoils in their last four games. They host Busoga United on 24th April in their next match.
