Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has announced his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers.
The Cranes are set to play South Africa at the Mandela National Stadium on November 15 before heading to Congo for their final group match on November 19.
With Uganda sitting at the top of Group K with 10 points, Coach Put’s side needs only one point from these two matches to secure qualification for the tournament.
In a notable addition, Put has summoned four goalkeepers, including KCCA FC’s Mutwalibi Mugolofa, who has impressed in the Ugandan league.
“We are aware that CHAN is around the corner, and we have games against Burundi next month, so I wanted Mugolofa to get training sessions with the goalkeeping coach,” Put explained. “He’s been performing well, and perhaps next time, we’ll summon another goalkeeper.”
The team will enter a residential camp on Sunday at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi, with foreign-based players joining as they arrive in Uganda.
Uganda’s squad features experienced players from international and local clubs, including Isima Watenga (Golden Arrows, South Africa), Timothy Awany (FC Ashdod, Israel), and forwards such as Calvin Kabuye (Sandvikens IF, Sweden) and Steven Mukwala (Simba SC, Tanzania).
