Small forward Moding Ruth Nangiro was supposed to make her competitive debut at Miracle Eaglets this season but sports activities were halted just hours to tipoff of the 2020 National Basketball Leagues due to COVID-19.

Albeit sports getting reinstated in September following a six month hiatus, the former Makerere Sparks Captain who joined the team in February this year will possibly make her debut next year for local basketball governing body FUBA cancelled entire activity calendar for 2020 due to uncertain times.

Albeit not making a competitive debut for the Women’s Division 1 outfit, Nangiro has had stints with the side during drills and believes that she is in the right team.

“My journey with the team has been good, actually better than I expected!” Nangiro told the club’s YouTube Channel.
“Miracle is a nice team and when I joined the team I realized that I already had friends here.

‘Lomo’ our Captain is my tribe mate (Karimojong), I knew Phoebe from High School and other players were friendly and it was easy for me to blend in. The coaches are great and they are always reaching out,” Nangiro added.
Nangiro who hails from the North Eastern District of Moroto believes that joining Miracle was as a result of desire for change.

“Towards end of 2019, Coach Arnold Katabi asked me if I’m interested in joining the team and I said yes. That was after I graduated from Makerere University and I felt like I should graduate to another team for change, learn more skills, play with different players and generally get a new community around me,” Nangiro revealed.

Miracle signed a couple of players in the transfer window and many of them will make their competitive debuts next year when domestic basketball activities return.
Miracle Eaglets, a women’s Division 1 outfit will be seeking a great display next season as they seek to climb the ladder to the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL).
