FUFA Big League, Sunday Results

Elgon Group
*Calvary 0-2 Arua Hill
*Gaddafi 6-2 Paidha
*Kataka 0-0 Black Power

Rwenzori Group
*Luwero 2-3 Proline
*Ndejje 0-0 Tooro
*Terrazzo 2-1 Water FC

Early first-half strikes from Gaddafi Gadinho and Rashid Agau enabled Arua Hill SC to beat Calvary FC 0-2 on Sunday at the Green Light Stadium in Arua to come atop the FUFA Big League West Nile derby.

Gadinho slotted home in the 10th minute after capitalizing on skipper Caesar Okhuti’s assist and four minutes later, Agau also found the back of the net and the two unanswered were enough to secure victory for the Leopards.

Arua Hill Head Coach Hussein Mbalangu believes that his boys executed their job as the side seeks direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

“The boys played as we instructed them to play, we now have different schemes to play…,” Mbalangu told club media after the game.

Calvary had their chances as the game proceeded, they tried to put Arua Hill under pressure but lacked sufficiency and were less clinical in front of goal to deny the Leopards a season double.

The triumph means that Arua Hill complete a league double over Calvary following their 1-0 win in the first round.

Arua Hill remain atop the Elgon Group table with 26 points after 12 games while Calvary have dropped to the 6th place.
