Uganda Rugby Cranes winger Solomon Okia was recently unveiled by Rugby Premier League side Black Pirates ahead of the new season.

Okia joins Pirates from Kenyan side Harlequins on a free transfer after his contract ran out.

Black Pirates Coach Robert Musinguzi via a club statement revealed what Okia’s arrival means a lot to the team and with competitive rugby set to be reinstated next month, his side are good to go.

“Solomon is a proven force who has produced consistent and impressive performances on national and international scenes over a number of years. He’s a quality player of undeniable talent and brings a real x factor to the side and we are excited about what he can do for the team,” Musinguzi said via a missive.

“We know that Solomon will continue to progress as a player and naturally we are delighted he will be turning up for the Stanbic Black Pirates for years to come,” Musinguzi added.

According to Musinguzi, Okia is already aware of the club’s vision and mission adding that he is perfect for the team’s culture which places an emphasis on personal development, discipline and high performance.

Okia will be marking a return to Uganda’s top tier league ever since he left for Kenya in September 2017 after terminating his contract with local side Buffaloes.
