The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the official draw for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) will take place on January 15, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), will unveil the group stage lineups for the tournament scheduled to run from February 1 to February 28, 2025. The exact time for the draw will be announced in due course.
The 2024 CHAN edition will feature 19 teams, including hosts Kenya and regional neighbors Uganda and Tanzania. Other qualified teams are Sudan, Guinea, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Angola, Zambia, Madagascar, and defending champions Senegal.
This tournament, exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues, is set to showcase Africa’s football talent and foster regional rivalries.
With the draw set, anticipation is building as fans and teams prepare for an exciting competition. Uganda, coached by Paul Put, will look to build on its strong qualification campaign and aim for a memorable performance at the tournament.
