The much anticipated 2019 Royal Ascot Goat Races is set for October 12 at the Speke Resort, Munyonyo. The organizers are looking forward to a fun-filled and colorful day of goat racing, networking, entertainment, eats and drinks.

The Ascot Goat Race is always a fabulous event to attend and organizers Rajiv and Sheena Ruparelia have ensured a top notch event after partnering with NTV, Goldstar Insurance, Speke Resort-Monyonyo, Sanyu FM, Robbialac paints and Tusker malt as sponsors.

The proceeds from the race will go to Good Samaritan school in Kamwokya which has over 500 pupils to assist in the construction of the school’s toilets by the Ghetto research lab –an environmental organization that makes bricks, pavers and other construction materials from polythene bags and plastics.

During the race launch at Kabira Country club, the highest goat was auctioned at Shs2.6m by MCs Judith Heard and comedian Salvado.

The event is known for its VIP lavish class, continental food and beers, attracts top big spenders and celebrities. This annual family day out charity event has been on since 1993 and has turned out the most popular event on Uganda’s social calendar due to its dress code of fancy dresses, shorts and hats.

There are prizes for the best-dressed couple, female, male and kid respectively while fans can also bet on the goats and win cash. Eight races are done on the day with each consisting ten goats and a reveler can buy a goat on the event to race.

Goat prices range from Shs500,000 and Shs1m while race prices range between Shs5m and Shs10m. Races of Shs6m, Shs7m and Shs7m have already been sold to Erofolex, Orient bank and Gold Star Insurance respectively.

Entry tickets for the race go for Shs25000 for kids (8-10 years) and Shs30000 for early birds while late comers will part with Shs50000.

VIPs will pay Shs400000 while a discount of Shs50000 will go for VIPs that book early. In the same way, accommodation fairs at Speke resort will be reduced to $149 and $400 for Deluxe package and Executive suits respectively. These accommodation charges come with two goat racing and VIP tent tickets.
