KCCA FC has successfully secured the return of former striker Derrick Nsibambi on a two-year contract, marking a significant addition to their squad for the 2024/25 season.
Nsibambi, who initially played for the club from 2014 to 2018, is now set to remain with the Cityzens until June 2026.
Nsibambi reunites with Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru, who had launched his professional career during his earlier years at KCCA FC.
The forward expressed his joy at returning to his roots, emphasizing his deep connection to the club and its fans. “It feels great to be back home. I know this club inside out, and I’m eager to contribute once again,” Nsibambi said.
During his first tenure at KCCA FC, Nsibambi was instrumental in several key victories, most notably his late goal against Egypt’s Al Masry in 2017, which propelled KCCA FC to the CAF Confederation Cup group stages—an unprecedented achievement for any Ugandan team.
After leaving KCCA FC, Nsibambi embarked on an international journey, playing for teams across Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, Oman, and Kenya.
His return to MTN Omondi Stadium sees him join the ranks alongside new signing Emmanuel Anyama and fellow forwards Abubaker Mayanja and Emmanuel Anyama as the club gears up for the upcoming season.
