Ghana vs Benin, 11pm

Wednesday

Uganda vs Zimbabwe, 8pm (SS4/GoTV)

Egypt vs DRC, 11pm

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Sebastien Desabre has praised the quality of his team ahead of the next AFCON 2019 encounter as they seek maxim points to storm the knockout stage for the first time since 1978 when they lost to Ghana in the finals.

Uganda will face Zimbawe on Wednesday and Desabre believes that it is a 50-50 game given the fact that Zimbawe has some individual qualities in the team.

TheDesabre’s side is not ready to loosen the grip after their commanding 2-0 win against awful Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in their group A opener on Saturday at the Cairo international stadium, Egypt.

PatrickKaddu and Emma Okwi goals ensured that not only Cranes secure their first AFCON win in 41 years, but also move at the summit of Group A with three points, bettering second placed Egypt by a goal. The hosts and record 7-time champions beat Zimbabwe 1-0 a day earlier. Desabre has cautioned his players against complacency, saying that it is not yet with more needed to be done. “I am glad we collected three points from our first game against Congo. This means that we are step into the round of 16 but more needs to be done. We have the quality and as long as we can keep the cohesion, we shall compete with any team” noted Desabre. “We have put our time since the Congo game to proper use. Every second matters in our preparations and we shall utilise it. The Ivory Coast build-up game and the opener against DRC have given me a good picture of the team and therefore, ready to face Zimbabwe,” added the French tactician. Whereas Uganda faces Zimbawe this Wednesday, Egypt take on DRC later in the day. Both Cranes and Pharaohs needs just a win to secure knockout spot.
