With just eight days left until the kickoff of the Muwanguzi beach soccer tournament, anticipation is already building for what promises to be a thrilling event.
Known for its fierce competition and entertaining matches, this year’s fourth edition of the tournament is expected to be no different.
Among the twelve teams set to compete at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on May 12th, only two are non-league sides.
Swans Sports Club from Entebbe and Buliisa Sand Dragons BSC from Buliisa district are the outsiders, while the rest are regular contenders in the FUFA beach soccer league.
Defending champions St. Lawrence BSC have dominated the league for the past four seasons, making Muwanguzi Cup an attractive opportunity for other clubs to claim silverware.
The list of teams includes Kampala City, St. Lawrence University, Buganda Royal Institute, Kampala Junior Team (KJT), Wolves, Mutoola, Grace Church, MS Sand Lions, Kiringente, Mengo Hill, Swans Sports Club, and Buliisa Sand Dragons.
