Eric Kambale scored the winning goal as Express FC defeated URA FC 2-1 in the Uganda Cup round of 16 on Saturday.

Dada Ibrahim had given URA the lead on two minutes after he was played through on goal by Shafiq Kagimu.

On 17 minutes, Martin Kizza equalised for Express as he bundled home from close range after Kambale headed the ball into his path.

Kambale’s winner came in the second half as he poked from close range off Sadiq Ssekyembe’s in-swinging corner kick.

Godfrey Lwesibawa, substitute Frank Kalanda and Kizza all had good chances to score a third for Express but could not convert.

Late in the game, Brian Nkuubi sent an effort wide, one that would have seen URA equalize.

The two teams will meet again in the second leg at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje on May 04.
