Kickboxing icon Moses Golola has encouraged the Government of Uganda to consider offering more support to companies that are investing in the development of sports in the country.
Golola made the remarks while receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards held on May 13, 2025, at Lazio Restaurant in Kampala.
“It’s important that the government recognizes those who are putting in effort to uplift sports. Companies like Fortebet and Jude Colours Solutions are doing a great job, and perhaps the government can consider supporting them more—maybe through tax incentives,” Golola suggested.
He noted that such partnerships between the private sector and government could accelerate the growth of Uganda’s sports industry.
“This may be a stepping stone toward faster development in sports,” he said.
Golola also emphasized the importance of recognizing athletes and contributors, not just for their own benefit, but to inspire future generations.
“Awarding sportspeople is not just about the winners—it motivates young people to pursue their dreams,” he added.
He called on the government to consider placing more focus on the sports sector and the individuals representing the country internationally.
“We are representing Uganda on various platforms. It would be good to see more attention and support given to the sports industry, just like other sectors that receive significant investment,” Golola added.
