Sadat Anaku scored a late goal to see his KCCA FC side beat Onduparaka 1-0 in the only Uganda Premier League game played on Sunday.

The striker who had gone three matches without scoring, netted with 11 minutes on the clock to separate the two sides who looked destined for a stalemate.

Anaku rifled into the back of the net from inside the area after he was teed up by Steven Sserwadda.

If it wasn’t for Onduparaka custodian Michael Kagiri, Anaku could have earlier handed the Kasasiro Boys the lead but Kagiri pulled off a brilliant save to deny him.

Sserwadda and Charles Lwanga also missed good chances as they fired wide but that will all not matter as KCCA head back to Kampala with three vital points.

Onduparaka who have now lost six of their past seven league games were deprived of inspiration upfront and only Kabon Living looked likely to breach KCCA’s defence but the pacey forward, first, shot wide before seeing an effort saved by Charles Lukwago.

The result means KCCA move back into 4th at the expense of Police FC with who they have the same points (37) but the Kasasiro Boys enjoy a better goal difference.
