StarTimes Uganda Premier League log leaders KCCA FC return to action today against Wakiso Giants in the second round campaign opener at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso.
KCCA lead the table with 29 points, just four ahead of Wakiso Giants who are fourth. Vipers and BUL have 27 points apiece.
KCCA Coach Morley Byekwaso says that his charges are upbeat ahead of the league return as they put in the work during the long break.
“We have prepared our team so well but we expect to face a stiff resistance in Wakiso. They are in fourth position and the difference between them and us shows how tough the encounter will be,” Byekwaso told the UPL media.
“But we shall fight to ensure we pick maximum points because failure will call for unnecessary pressure.”
In the first round, KCCA won the match 3-2 at Lugogo despite Wakiso putting in a good shift towards the end of the game.
In the last five meetings, KCCA have won 3, Wakiso Giants 1 and the other a draw.
Meanwhile, in the other fixture, Busoga United will host Maroons at the Fufa Technical Centre Njeru.
Last time out, Maroons won 5-0 on opening day but will find far tougher resistance against a side that beat Vipers and Wakiso Giants towards the end of the first round.
