KCCA FC players celebrate one of the goals against SC Villa

Allan Kyambadde was the star player as KCCA FC walloped rivals SC Villa 4-2 on Saturday in a thrilling StarTimes Uganda Premier League clash at the stadium Lugogo.

Kyambadde fed up Mike Mutyaba for the opener with two minutes to the break. The forward dispossessed transiting Suleiman Majanjalo towards the centre line and made a run into SC Villa disjointed defense before beautifully laying for Mutyaba, who superbly beat approaching goal keeper Said Keni, to give the home fans the first celebration of the day.

Kyambadde was again Mustafa Kizza’s provider for the second in the 53rdminute after the left back, from a tight angle, coolly curled home Kyambadde’s ‘minus’ from left. Kyambadde completed his splendid Pilsner Man of the match performance by sinking his former side further with the third in the 59th minute off Allan Okello through ball.

Substitute Charles Lwanga scored Jogoos’ first in the 68th minute before play maker Allan Okello stretched the hosts’ lead from the spot after a foul on him inside the box by center back Asuman Halishe.

Wasteful SC Villa pushed hard for at least an equaliser but Ambrose Kirya’s 83rd minute goal only proved a consolation as Mike Mutebi’s side completed a league double against the 16-time champions after a 3-2 win at Namboole.

The victory stretched KCCA lead at the top to three points above second placed Vipers SC with eight games to go. The Venoms had temporarily moved level on 45 points with the 12-time champions after earlier 2-0 win at Express on Friday at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende courtesy of Pilsner Man of the match Dan Sserunkuma’s brace.

SC Villa meanwhile, remained 12th with 23 points, just seven points off relegation.
