The Uganda women’s rugby XVs team (Lady Rugby Cranes) are in a training camp in Jinja up to Saturday, 22nd May.

According to the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) website, the primary purpose of  the camp that started on Tuesday is to transition players from the 10s version of rugby they have just been competing locally to the 15s version.

The women’s teams recently engaged in regional satellite 10s tournaments after over one-year hiatus caused by Covid-19 disruptions. Teams from Central, Eastern and Northern Regions engaged themselves in tournaments for three straight weekends.

The team will have 2 trial games within camp to help them analyze the needs of the team and who suits the final team selection criteria ahead of the international schedule.
