Eng. Moses Magogo has revealed that he will be vying for a third term in office as president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) when the local football governing body goes to polls in August this year.

Magogo who is also a newly elected member of parliament for Budiope East as well as a CAF Executive Committee Member made this announcement on Tuesday, 6th April 2021 during the federation’s media quarterly engagement at Jevine Hotel, Rubaga.

“I will stand again as President of FUFA. I want to consolidate the gains worked upon since 2013 when I came to office. I also want to see Uganda Cranes qualify for the FIFA World Cup,” Magogo told the media.

Magogo has been at helm of FUFA since 2013 when he replaced Vipers SC owner Lawrence Mulindwa who had led FUFA for eight years (two terms).

At the moment, there is no other person who has been successfully vetted to stand against Magogo and he’s likely to be unchallenged just like in the past two elective AGMs.

Mujib Kasule, Hon. Muhammad Nsereko, Robert Kabushenga and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana had expressed interest to stand for FUFA Presidency but didn’t have enough credentials.

Ahead of polls, FUFA has already held an orientation workshop for members of its Electoral Committee and Electoral Appeals Committee and the road map to August is clear.
