NBL: Aden guides KIU Titans past UCU Canons

KIU Titans guard Faisal Aden managed 27 points and 3 assists as his side beat UCU Canons 78-85 at their own court in Mukono during one of the Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) fixtures played on Sunday.

The Sunday result was Titans’ second league win of the season from three games.

Other top performers for Titans against Canons were; Michael Bwanga with 14 points and Peter Obleng with 11 points.

For Canons, Lwabaga Ibanda managed 11 points, Fayed Baale shot 15 points plus three assists, while former Titans star Sudi Ulanga shot 11 points plus 4 assists.

However, league debutants Nam Blazers claimed their third win of the season with a 73-68 victory against Ndejje Angels. A day earlier Blazers had secured a 65-51 win against Falcons.

Against Angels, Deng Dikong shot 22 points for Blazers. Emmanuel Okumu had 15 points  while Godfrey Soro and and Christopher Omanye had 8 points apiece.

For Angels, Samuel Ajak shot 18 points, Godwin Muhamiriro had 15 points while David Mayom and David Orenga had 11 points each.

In the ladies league, title holders JKL Lady Dolphins beat Magic Stormers 64-95 to maintain their winning streak after four games. A day earlier, Lady Dolphins had beaten hosts UCU Lady Canons 72-76.

In the other women’s game played on Sundays, KCCA Leopards beat KIU Rangers 46-62.
