Mikel Arteta has confirmed Pablo Mari is finally ready to make his competitive Arsenal debut following his loan move from Flamengo last month.
The Spaniard, whose transfer will reportedly be made permanent in the summer, has made several appearances for the Under-23s but has remained behind the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos in Arteta’s pecking order.
Mustafi appeared to suffer a hamstring injury during Thursday night’s demoralising Europa League defeat against Olympiacos, which appears to have opened the door for the January recruit who featured in last night’s Under-23 defeat against Manchester City.
