After a long wait, finally the Uganda netball federation (UNF) released a team of 12 She Cranes players who will represent the country at this year’s Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England due July 12-21.

She Cranes skipper Drajole Peace Proscovia attempts to score in 2015 World Cup

The team named on Thursday also has three reserves from the 17 players that have been undergoing intensive training for months while the officials to England are eight.

The squad that also has seven returnees from the team that featured at the 2015 global showpiece in Australia is captained by Sunshine Coast Lightning shooter Peace Proscovia, who also led the team in Sydney four years ago.

Lilian Ajio, Jesca Achan, Ruth Meeme, Racheal Nanyonga, Sylvia Nanyonga, and Stella Oyella are the others returning to the big stage.

Vincent Kiwanuka will handle the team and will be assisted by Nelson Bogere.

“I am happy that I made the cut. I am going to double my efforts because World Cup is the best platform for professional netball -which is my dream,” noted Nanyonga, who put up remarkable performance at both 2015 World Cup and 2018 Commonwealth Games.
