Proline, KCCA settle in Rwanda ahead of Cecafa Cup

Uganda’s representatives at this year’s Cecafa Kagame Cup that starts this Saturday till July 21 have settled in Kigali, Rwanda and ready for action.

The reigning Premier league champions played to a 5-1 win against the FUFA Big league and Stanbic Uganda Cup champions as the two sides held their trail match on Wednesday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

Allan Okello, Sadam Juma, Mike Mutyaba, Herbert Achai and Jackson Nunda scored for the Mike Mutebi side while last season FUFA Big league top scorer Ivan Bogere scored the consolation for the Shafik Bisaso side.

It was the second trial game for Proline, who earlier whipped Rainbow 6-0 with Bogere scoring all the goals. KCCA arrived in Rwanda on Thursday and reside at Boni Consilli hotel, Butare while Proline are camped in Kigali and are accommodated at Kigali View hotel and apartment.

Proline signed Bernard Muwanga from KCCA on loan while Andrew Isiagi Yusuf Mukisa joined as free agents. KCCA are grouped with Bandari (Kenya), Victory Mukura (Rwanda) and Azam (Tanzania) in group B while Proline are in group C along side APR (Rwanda), Green Eagles (Zambia) and Heegan (Somalia).

KCCA open the campaign with Bandari this Saturday while Proline start against APR on Sunday. Azam are the defending champions.
