FUFA’s Competition Department has unveiled the roadmap for the 2024 FUFA Primary Schools Championship (Odilo), marking its third edition.
This annual event aims to provide a competitive platform for pupils aged 11-13 in primary schools.
The journey kicks off with schools indicating their interest in participating at the district level, where registration is mandatory along with a commitment fee of UGX 50,000 payable to the district organizing committee chaired by the FUFA District Football Association.
Here’s a breakdown of the registration fee distribution:
- UGX 35,000 to the District
- UGX 10,000 to the Region
- UGX 5,000 to the FUFA Competitions Directorate
Each district organizing committee consists of five members, including two from the District Football Association, the DFA Chairperson, and the Executive Secretary.
At the regional level, the committee includes the Chairperson, a Regional EXCOM Member, the Regional Secretary, and two members from the regional schools association, with at least two being female.
District winners advance to the Regional level, competing to determine the male and female champions who will represent their region at the National Level.
The National Competition takes place at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, with all matches broadcast on FUFA TV.
Notably, the national champions will represent Uganda at the FEASSA games hosted in Bukedea, Uganda, in August.
Bombo Army Primary School and Kampala Grammar Junior School are the defending champions in the girls’ and boys’ categories, respectively.
