Busoga United 1-1 Wakiso Giants FC

Vianne Ssekajugo scored a late goal to ensure Wakiso Giants drew 1-1 with Busoga United on Tuesday.

Busoga United were on the verge of completing a first ever double over Wakiso Giants before Ssekajugo netted with just 11 minutes on the clock to see the two sides share spoils on the afternoon.

The goal came barely four minutes after Wakiso had seen a player sent off as Hassan Wasswa was shown his second yellow card of the day after a rushed challenge.

Wasswa had already been cautioned in the 25th minute of the first half.

Both teams were in desperate need of the 3 points but Busoga showed more intent, scoring just after 15th minutes through Sharif Kimbowa who headed home Ivan Wani’s corner.

From then on, both teams attacked in equal measure until the visitors got reduced to 10 men in the 75th minute.

They were destined for a 7th loss of the season but Sekajugo pounced on an assist from Ivan Bogere to win an unlikely point for Wakiso.

The point earned keeps Busoga in 13th place with 26 points, six above the relegation zone.

Wakiso Giants also move to 27 points and maintain 9th place.

In the other games played on Tuesday, Samuel Ssekamate scored a brace as Bright Stars beat Mbarara City FC 3-1 at Kavumba, Living Kabon scored the only goal in Onduparaka FC’s 1-0 victory at home to SC Villa while Paul Musamali struck a late equalizer in MYDA FC’s 1-1 draw away to UPDF at Bombo.
