Three Ugandan runners to race at Doha Diamond League

Ugandan runners Ronald Musagala, Winnie Nanyondo, and Peruth Chemutai have joined the list of star-studded field of contenders for the Doha Diamond League slated for this Friday at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Musagala will battle in 1500m, Nanyondo in 800m while Chemutai competes for over 3000m as they prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics coming up next month.

The Doha Diamond League promises the three Ugandans enthralling clashes against World Champions and top world-ranked runners.

Musagala currently world ranked 4th in 1500m will face against World No. 1 and World Champion Timothy Cheruyot (Kenya).

Winnie Nanyondo currently in 5th world position and no stranger to Doha will be racing against Kenyan 1500m Olympic Champion, Faith Kipyegon (world ranked 9th)  and 3rd ranked Natoya Goule (JAM), among other stars.

Chemutai in 10th world position will do battle against Kenyan World No. 1 and World Record holder, Beatrice Chepkoech,  2nd world ranked Emma Coburn (USA) and Kenyan twice Diamond League winner, Norah Jeruto, among others.

The Doha Diamond League is an annual one-day track and field meeting held at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. It is part of the Diamond League – the top-level international circuit for the sport. It is typically held in May as the first leg of the Diamond League series.
