Matchday 15 of the FUFA Women Super League is set to deliver an exciting weekend of football with six fixtures scheduled across Saturday and Sunday, as teams battle for valuable points in the closing stages of the season.
Saturday’s action features three matches across the country. Olila High School WFC will host Asubo Ladies FC at Olila Ground, while Kampala Queens FC face St Noa Girls FC at MTN Omondi Stadium. Rines SS WFC will also be in action as they welcome Uganda Martyrs High School WFC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
The clash between Kampala Queens and St Noa Girls is expected to be one of the standout encounters of the day, with both sides seeking maximum points to strengthen their positions as the league campaign intensifies.
Attention will then shift to Kawempe Muslim Ground on Sunday for what could prove to be the defining fixture of the weekend. Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will host league leaders She Corporate FC in a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash.
She Corporate currently lead the standings with 35 points, two ahead of Kawempe, making the encounter crucial in shaping the title race. Kawempe will be aiming to reclaim the summit with a victory in front of their home fans.
The timing of the match mirrors the first-round meeting between the two sides when Kawempe needed a win to move ahead in the standings. On that occasion, the Valley Warriors produced a commanding performance to secure a 2–0 victory.
Kawempe are expected to rely on their attacking style of play, particularly on home turf. Midfielder Agnes Nabukenya will play a key role in linking defence to attack, working alongside Dorcus Kisakye to drive the team forward. The hosts will also look to stretch the opposition using the pace of wingers Jovia Nakogolo and Asia Nakibuuka.
However, Kawempe’s defensive midfield area has shown signs of vulnerability in recent matches, an aspect She Corporate may seek to exploit through quick transitions.
She Corporate’s impressive campaign has largely been built on defensive discipline and tactical patience. The league leaders often allow opponents to dominate possession before striking on the counterattack or capitalizing on set-piece opportunities.
Forward Jesca Namanda is expected to be a key figure in attack, while the team’s defensive record will give them confidence heading into the contest. She Corporate have yet to concede a goal in the second round and have kept nine clean sheets this season.
Recent meetings between the two teams have also been tightly contested. In their last seven encounters, Kawempe have recorded one victory, She Corporate have won twice, while four matches have ended in draws.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Makerere University WFC will host She Maroons FC at Nsibirwa Playground, while Lady Doves FC take on Amus College WFC at Katusabe Ground in Masindi.
