The Uganda Cricket Association has announced that it will host the 1st round of the Challenge League B tournament from November 4 to November 16, 2024.
This event will bring together six highly competitive teams, including Uganda, Tanzania, Bahrain, Singapore, Italy, and Hong Kong China, as they battle it out for a spot in the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which is set to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The tournament will take place at two of Uganda’s premier cricket venues: the Lugogo Cricket Oval and the Entebbe Cricket Oval, providing a thrilling experience for players and fans alike.
Cricket enthusiasts can expect a series of intense matches as teams compete for supremacy and a chance to advance in the World Cup qualification process.
Eng. Fred Lutaaya, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), expressed his excitement about Uganda hosting the prestigious event once again:
“We are thrilled to be hosting the 1st round of the Challenge League as Uganda. This opportunity reflects the ICC’s confidence in the Uganda Cricket Association as a capable host nation. Having previously hosted the same event in 2022 and the finals of the Women’s World Cup Qualifiers last year, we see this tournament as an incredible opportunity for our players to showcase their skills. We invite everyone to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable experience.”
