Uganda Cup: Resilient KCCA frustrate Express at Wankulukuku…

KCCA FC showed their resilience as they held in-form Express FC to a 0-0 draw in the Uganda Cup quarter final first leg match played at Wankulukuku.

The match at was played on a low key with none of the teams taking too many risks in search of a goal.

Express were clearly the better side going forward as they created the better chances.

The visitors created the best opening of the first half when left back Herbat Achai forced Express custodian Denis Otim into a super save.

The Red Eagles’ only realistic effort on goal, in the opening half, was Isa Lumu’s goal-bound effort which was cleared off the line.

The second period got more dull with the visitors resorting to fall deep and waiting to catch Express on the break.

Their strategy paid off in the end but they had to produce decent defensive action to deny the energetic and pacey forward line of Express.

The match’s best opportunity came from a free kick taken by Eric Kambale which forced Charles Lukwago into an angled save.

Both side go into the second leg at Lugogo on June 4th, knowing that it is all to play for.
