Uganda Premier League (UPL) sides NEC FC and Vipers SC have progressed to the Round of 32 in the ongoing Stanbic Uganda Cup following dominant performances in their respective fixtures.
In a tightly contested match in Ngora District, three-time Uganda Cup champions Vipers SC overcame Tepa FC with a 2-1 victory.
Livingstone Mulondo was the hero of the day, netting twice, including a late winner that sealed the win for Vipers and secured their place in the next round.
Meanwhile, NEC FC delivered a commanding performance against UCU (Mbale), cruising to a 4-0 triumph. Goals from Emmanuel Ajo, James Jarieko, Allan Mugalu, and Dickson Niwamanya ensured Hussein Mbalangu’s side comfortably advanced.
NEC, last season’s runners-up, displayed the form that took them to the final against Kitara FC in 2024.
Several matches involving other Premier League teams, including SC Villa and KCCA FC, have been postponed. However, the competition continues, with other fixtures still on schedule.
